Goofs and bloopers in Manhunter and Silence of the Lambs
****
No film is free from goofs. These are the ones that I found in Manhunter:
- Will's tie ties itself :) after he runs out of the asylum.
- Boom mike visible in the FBI conference room after Francis' letter is found.
- Will uses wrong ammunition for the Bulldog.
- Will changes place in the supermarket without moving.
- Boom mike can be seen when Francis and Reba lie in bed at night.
- Boom mike visible, a moment before Will understands that the Dragon saw the family films.
- When the police car crashes, the window is already broken before the impact,
- In the shooting, blood appears on the wall in between Francis is shot - not after he's hit.
- After Francis dies, blood around his body disappears. Also, more glass appears and his right leg changes position even though Will does not touch it (and Francis certainly cannot move it :).
- Something black can be constantly seen in the upper part of the screen during the zoom-out scene after the shooting. This may be dirt - or crew equipment.
- Something large and shaking, probably a boom mike as there is nothing else around, can be seen before the final credits roll - and later.
- Wrong choice of Blake's painting. :)

And these are some goofs for Silence of the Lambs. Unlike the ones for Manhunter, I found most of the following information on the 'Net, not by myself:
- Many cars are registered in Pittsburgh (by the movie crew :).
- Starling cannot be a criminology major from University of Virginia - it has no such faculty.
- Crawford's collar "moves" by itself :).
- The Washington airport is actually St Louis.
- A poster on the wall in Fredrica's room is three years younger than the period when the action is seemingly taking place.
- The music box melody's tone changes - this is impossible.
- Wrong Latin name for Death Head Moth used.
- Forensic goofs - amateurish and incorrect methods of getting fingerprints used (one police expert said that anyone taking samples the way it is done in the movie would be fired and perhaps prosecuted).
- Lecter's tape recorder isn't playing but the music can be heard.
- No FBI agent would venture alone to get an armed and dangerous suspect like Jame Gumb the way that Starling does.
- In Jame's house, Starling walks through door with hinges on the left but when she exits it, they're on the right.
- Shadows of standing lamps used by the movie crew can be seen through Jame Gumb's nocturnal vision goggles.
